Clélia Iruzun, a celebrated Brazilian pianist based in London, is known for her dynamic performances spanning classical, romantic, and Latin American repertoires. She has performed over 30 piano concertos, earning widespread recognition for her versatility.
Iruzun studied at the School of Music in Rio de Janeiro and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she won major prizes. She has worked with renowned artists such as Nelson Freire, Jacques Klein, Fou Ts’Ong, and Stephen Kovacevich. Many prominent composers, including Francisco Mignone and Marlos Nobre, have dedicated works to her.
A frequent performer across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, Iruzun is a leading figure in the classical music world. She has appeared on radio and TV, including BBC Radio 3, and released several critically acclaimed CDs. Her award-nominated recording of the Albéniz and Mignone concertos with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has earned praise, along with recent albums featuring concertos by Saint-Saëns and Henrique Oswald, as well as Nimrod Borenstein’s Concerto (dedicated to her) and Manuel de Falla’s Nights in the Gardens of Spain with the Ulster Orchestra, released in January 2025 on SOMM Recordings.
