New Born – Narrative Piano Concert
New Born is a narrative piano concert combining original compositions, spoken storytelling, and poetry into a structured musical journey. The performance opens with an improvised piano introduction, establishing the tonal and emotional atmosphere of the concert. A continuous narrative then unfolds through spoken word, with the music functioning as a live soundtrack that accompanies and reflects each stage of the story. Throughout the concert, approximately eight original piano works composed by Dante are performed. Each piece corresponds to a specific emotional state or narrative moment, such as fear, anger, sadness, joy, love, transformation, and resolution. Piano performance is enriched by the use of a loop station, creating evolving soundscapes and cinematic textures that function as live landscapes and soundtracks beneath the music. The structure alternates between storytelling and music, resulting in a clear and coherent cinematic progression. While the musical works are composed, elements of improvisation are integrated within transitions, textures, and expressive development, allowing flexibility within a defined framework. The final section focuses on integration and release, bringing the narrative and musical journey to a cohesive conclusion.
Instrumentation: Grand piano with integrated loop station (RC-505).
