On Thursday 26 February 2026, Opera Rara presents the second Salon Series recital of its 55th season in a new collaboration with London’s Bechstein Hall. Pianist Anna Tilbrook returns alongside Colombian soprano Julieth Lozano Rolong for an evening of rare songs, ranging from German lieder to Ibero-American canión, alongside further gems from Opera Rara’s Donizetti Song Project.
With a particular focus on music by female composers, Rolong and Tilbrook will illuminate women’s voices and experiences across different eras, cultures, and artistic traditions. Their recital also offers the opportunity to hear four of the Ibero-American songs in their UK premieres.
Julieth Lozano Rolong, Audience Prize Winner at the 2023 Cardiff Singer of the World, made her Opera Rara debut at London’s Barbican Centre in December 2025, singing the roles of Bianca, Gabriella and Marietta in the final, 1921 version of Puccini’s La rondine. Opera Rara’s studio recording of Puccini’s opera in autumn 2026 will mark Lozano’s opera recording debut. Two of the composers featured in this recital – María Grever and Jaime León – also appear on Rolong’s debut album Alma, described by The Guardian as ‘captivating’.
