Our Concept

My goal is to make going to a concert a beautiful experience.

The standard 19.30 commencement time offered elsewhere means one cannot comfortably eat dinner before or after the performance. At Bechstein Hall, I have structured the timings of our programming to allow concertgoers to do just that. Selecting Bechstein Hall as your destination will enable you to enjoy a relaxed meal, whether dining here at the Hall or elsewhere.

To enhance your experience further, we do not require you to rush your pre-show or interval drinks but allow drinks into the hall; we trust you to be careful with our glassware and, as such, do not require you to decant your drink into a plastic cup.

Our weekday performances last for one hour with no interval and are offered at 18.30 each evening. This allows our guests to dine after the performance, or before should they wish to have an early supper. Should you not want to dine in our elegant and quiet restaurant, please feel free to relax and enjoy our comfortably appointed bar and lounge areas.

On Saturdays, we offer a ‘dinner’ series commencing at 18.00. These concerts conclude at 20.00, and you simply walk downstairs to find your table awaiting you (pre-booking highly recommended). Again, should you not wish to dine with us, access to our bar and lounge areas is provided.

Join us for our ‘Sunday Roast’ Series on Sundays. During the chilly autumn and winter, a delicious traditional two-course Sunday lunch is available from noon, followed by a 50-minute performance at 13.45. We deliberately conclude at 14:35, so you may travel home in daylight hours.

To kickstart your musical Sundays, for just £5, we offer a ‘bottomless’ coffee service from 09.30, followed by a short student recital of 40 minutes, concluding at 11.10.
